Pokemon Black & White Tournament

SwampCon is proud to be hosting its own Pokemon tournament! Battles will take place using Pokemon Black & White for the Nintendo DS. The tournament will be located in the Matthew Suite on the 4th floor of the Reitz Union. See the schedule here for times. Go to this page for the rules (at bottom of page).

If you didn’t pre-register for SwampCon, then you will need to register the day-of before you can attend any of our panels, go to any of our events, or enter any of our tournaments or contests. Stop by the Registration Desk, located on the 2nd floor of the Reitz Union, by the Grand Ballroom, to register with us and receive a wristband.

Hunger Games Con-ucopia

SwampCon will be looking for 12 tributes to compete in SwampCon’s 1st Con-ucopia.

To Become a tribute, attendees must win The Hunger Games District 12 Strategy Game Contest .

Winners of the tabletop game will be entered into a reaping ball.

On sunday, all SwampCon attendees can learn the skills needed to survive the Hunger Games at the UF Training Day Fair.

During the Project Cosplay: Hunger Game Edition, 12 tributes will be chosen from the reaping ball and will be models in Project Cosplay. We will be looking for twelve groups of three stylists to dress the tributes in unique materials. Sign ups for the stylists groups will be open on all day Saturday and Sunday from 11am-2pm.

The Hunger Game events will conclude with 12 contestants competing in a relay race. The winner will be crowned UF’s First Hunger Game Champion and win fabulous prizes.

MikuMiku Hologram Concert

Students from the Digital Arts and Sciences department will be putting together a simulated hologram concert in the Grand Ballroom on Saturday Night.

2013 Guest: LittleKuriboh

LittleKuriboh (AKA Martin Billany) is the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Abridged series and the godfather of the abridged age.

He has thus far produced no less than 52 episodes, a spinoff, a prequel, a christmas special and two movies, creating a cultural phenomenon in the anime world. In addition to playing nearly every character in his own series, he has made cameos in the Death Note, Naruto, Sonic X, Trinity Blood, Pokemon, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Sailor Moon abridged series.
With a mission to revitalize interest in the Yu-Gi-Oh franchise and make it more accessible to Joe Public, LittleKuriboh will continue the original abridged series providing us with priceless entertainment for many years to come.

All-round nice guy and community fan-favourite, he is also associated with TeamFourStar (the group behind Dragon Ball Z Abridged, for which he also supplies voices) and has made guest appearances on comic-book video review series Atop the Fourth Wall.
